The pursuit of high standards led Amanda Bastin to start her own firm in 2017.  ‘I have always had the theory that I will find a perfect property for someone no matter what the challenge’ she says, ‘and that a client will only get quality of service when they work with an individual rather than a corporation.’

The ethos has paid dividends, with a strong start to 2019 as clients flooded in, via recommendations and previous clients.   She’s worked with couples purchasing for their children, families upscaling and Middle East based HNWs looking to invest in their London home.  She also deals with corporates and has been helping home a number of HNW US employees for a major firm.

The recent challenges, she says, is finding properties in a sector that is short of the supply side.  Fortunately, Bastin has been able to source off market, most notably in Notting Hill, as well as securing a very popular property for a client after having gone to final and best bids.

Such is her expertise that her clients will often call her simply to discuss the market. ‘These people require my complete attention, and I am happy to deliver whether this be Monday morning, Saturday afternoon or Sunday evening’, she tells Spear’s.

Her clients certainly seem happy.  ‘She presented a steady flow of new properties, liaised closely with the agents, and thoroughly followed up my questions,’ says one.  ‘Her manner is calm, relaxed and purposeful, which is exactly what you need when you’re purchasing a property in London.’
